Christmas with the Crawfords

Director’s Notes

Picture this, if you will:

A shockingly attractive, shockingly middleclass, shockingly middle-American family gathered ‘round a cozy living room decked with garland and twinkling lights. A teary-eyed mother watches from the door frame, as white-haired grandparents read the children ‘The Night Before Christmas’. The soft snow falls to the silent ground, whilst that favorite holiday song of yesteryear glimmers softly through the air like stars in the night sky.

Do you see it? Do you feel it? Great. We are not that.

This is Christmas with the Crawfords.

If this little holiday-thought-exercise got you thinking, “My God, I could use a stiff drink and a little something sadistic” you have come to the right place. After all, who needs feelings... nostalgia… sentiment at Christmastime when there can be dancing, DAMNIT!?

Welcome to the wonderful world of Christmas with the Crawfords: a technicolor soundstage where Old Hollywood meets Met-Gala-Camp, and good ole’ fashioned Mommie Dearest issues meet the musicale extravaganza of the season! Just take your steak rare and leave the wire hangers at the door, and everything will be fine.

Think your family holidays are dysfunctional? Think again. Welcome to Christmas at the Crawfords. You’ll have a gay old time!
